About LHS

Ludlow High School is a four-year, comprehensive high school of approximately 850 students, grades 9-12, accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Approximately 80% of the senior class of 2020 entered higher education:  51% to four-year colleges or universities, 29% to two-year colleges. 7.4% entered the work force, and 3.2% went into the military.  There were 196 students in the Class of 2020.  There are 199 students in the Class of 2021 as of March 2021.

The Ludlow High School student will:

Curriculum

Five five-credit courses are required each year, plus Physical Education. In addition to course offerings in English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, and World Languages, a diverse range of elective courses are offered in Art, Business & Technology, Family & Consumer Science, and Music. Courses are offered in 3 academic pathways – standard college preparatory, honors, and Advanced Placement.

Early Entrance permits qualified students to enroll at Holyoke Community College, Springfield Technical Community College, or Elms College while taking courses at the high school.

Our Advanced Placement program offers AP courses in English Language & Composition, English Literature & Composition, Spanish, French, Calculus AB, Statistics, U.S. History, Government & Politics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Computer Science.

Graduation Requirements

112 credit hours including:

English - 20 credits

Math - 15 credits

Science - 15 credits

Social Studies - 10 credits

Health - 1 credit

Physical Education - 3 credits or based on years of attendance at LHS

Fine Arts / Business & Technology - 2.5 credits / 2.5 credits

Other - 43 credits
