Good morning,
     This message is to inform all parents/guardians of LHS students that today at approximately 8:40am our fire alarms were activated. This was not a drill. As the students safely exited the building we identified that a microwave on the ground floor had malfunctioned and set off the alarms. The Fire Department and Police Department  responded immediately and deemed the building safe to reoccupy at approximately 8:55am. Some students who exited the building towards Veteran's Park Elementary unfortunately stepped on a bee's nest in the grass, and many students were stung. Our nursing staff and Ludlow EMTs were on scene immediately and all students were treated as necessary. Students resumed their classes at 8:55am and we are proceeding with a normal bell schedule.
